<p>Dental insurers don&#8217;t tend to cover orthodontic treatment as it is considered cosmetic and therefore &#8216;elective&#8217; (not necessary for dental health). There are insurances that specifically cover certain orthodontic treatments, such as dental implant insurance but in general if the treatment is cosmetic, insurance won&#8217;t cover it. Insurance is generally something that covers risks such as dental emergencies, as opposed to commercial treatments like having braces fitted.</p>
