Plans to fluoridate other parts of the UK have been put on hold…

…because of the campaign against the scheme in Hampshire.

Health bosses have postponed a consultation on a scheme to fluoridate parts of the north-west to wait for the results of a legal challenge against the decision to add the chemical to water supplies in and around Southampton.

Rhodri backs brushing off the VAT on fluoride toothpaste

A WELSH campaign to scrap VAT on fluoride toothpaste has won the backing of First Minister Rhodri Morgan. It is hoped that the Welsh Assembly Government will now put pressure on Chancellor Alistair Darling to remove the 17.5% tax.

£42m dental money wasted

NOW Alan Johnson has announced that he is prepared to pour £42million of NHS money down the drain by financing new fluoridation schemes Cumbrian residents who are not currently fluoridated may find they will soon be receiving hexafluorosilic acid, a by product of the fertiliser industry, in their water.
