I have not been to an NHS dentist in a long time because there isn't one in my town, or anywhere near. I now have no choice and I was looking into the charges.
The middle tier-this is what I think I will have to pay-£42.40 I think it is. But how much will that cover? I think I will need treatment for multiple teeth at one time so will that increase the charge (will I pay multiples of the £42.40)?
I haven't had the kind of treatments that you are talking of. But as I understand it, the charges are per visit, so if you had three teeth dealt with in one office visit you would be charged just the one fee. But if you had to make multiple visits to the office then you would pay that fee for the treatment each time.
Thank you for your response. My guess is that though I would attempt to have the treatment completed in as few visits as possible, I wouldn't be able to cope with it all at once. The NHS dental charges aren't exactly going to break the bank for a couple of trips, and if it keeps me able to cope with the after effects of the treatment it's got to be better.
I am looking at the various companies that provide cheap dental insurance and the prices are not very competitive, at least prices within my reach. It really is a bed situation when you can't afford what you need.
