I got a real bad taste in my mouth when I flossed this morning. I suspect I might have a cavity between the teeth, but no other symptoms yet. I have yet to buy my dental insurance as I was looking around for something cheap.
Is there any way I can figure out how bad this is, whether I have a hole in the tooth without seeing a dentist right away?
You could have someone look inside your mouth and describe what they see. Are any of your teeth sensitive to hot or cold lately? If it is, then there could be a cavity otherwise it is probably just something that was stuck between your teeth
I would think that if it was something stuck between my teeth then it would have come out when I flossed, and not repeated as it unfortunately has. I couldn't tell you of a difference in sensitivity because my teeth are always cold sensitive-have been since I was about 12.
My teeth have always been sensitive as well, so I've had a hard time using that method to determine whether I have a cavity or not. I would have somebody else take a look and tell you if they see anything.
I normally use a small mirror, one of the make up mirror and stuck in my mouth in front of a mirror. I get a full view of both top and bottom teeth.
Ah, that's a good idea, thank you. I have only tried looking in a mirror, and of course my head isn't flip top and so I can't get into the right position to see what I need to. I'll have a look, thank you.
